How do you change tempo of a CERTAIN pattern of FL Studio 8 without changing the others?
Q. Im kind of new to Fruityloop 8 but i got most things down pack except changing the tempo for particular patterns. I just wanna be able change one pattern without all the other patterns changing when i do this. Help if u can...
Asked by i dont know - Thu Jul 30 02:00:17 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments

A. One way would be to turn your pattern into an audio clip. In the Mixer (F9), insert an instance of Edison, select "ON PLAY" for the recording option and press Record in Edison - NOT on the main transport. Play your pattern (don't use the spacebar, just click play on the main transport) a few times (in pattern mode) and Edison will record the sound that is played. Press Stop after the pattern plays a few times. Now you have an audio version of your pattern. The last tool icon in Edison is the drag tool. Click and hold this and drag your audio onto the playlist. Now we are on the playlist. Resize your audio clip using the slip tool (S) so that it is a perfect loop size. Now make sure that stretch is selected from the top left portion… [cont.]

How much does it cost to fix the suspension on a 1990 Ford Tempo?
Q. I know nothing about cars, and my 1990 Ford Tempo's suspension is all screwed up. I've been neglecting getting it fixed, and am now trying to figure out whether it's worth it to get it fixed. Anyone have an idea about how much I might be estimated to get that fixed? It's otherwise a very good car.

A. There is a button on the bottom toolbar that will let you do this. I can't really describe the button icon but it's around the 28th button counting from the left. Click on this button and check the box beside tempo to change the tempo of a song half way through or wherever you want. Hope this helps...

How can you control the tempo of a game?
Q. The player I admire the most is Zidane. He has a special gift which allows him to dictate the tempo and flow of a game. For example: He can be surrounded by opponents and instead of passing the ball to his team mate in order to switch the responsibilities he fights them off and gives a clean pass to a player who is a lone. How can I develop this kind of skill??
Asked by Benedictine - Thu Sep 27 14:34:40 2007 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments

A. things like that are gifts. the game just slows down for some people. it comes with time and concentration. you must constantly work on your control so that you are able to see the whole field while holding the ball and fending off the defender. work on ball work while looking elsewhere. dribbling with your head up. juggling while not looking at the ball. you need to be so confident with the ball that it is an extension of yourself. work, then work some more.

How do I add and check the transmission fluid on a 1993 Ford Tempo?
Q. I have a 93' Ford Tempo that changes gear weird and takes time to change when first starting up. I just bought this car and it's been sitting for about two years. Checked fluid and it's reallly low, so about how many quarts will I need on average to get it running right? Thanks
Asked by Phish - Mon Mar 17 15:35:13 2008 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments

A. If you don't see any on the transmission fluid dipstick (not the motor oil dipstick, but you knew that), you need at least two quarts, maybe more. Just spring for the gallon jug and you should be fine--pour it in a quart at a time and check the dipstick after you give each quart a while to settle in. Also, don't forget that when you check on the trans fluid level it should be with the engine warm. I don't have a tempo, but on most cars the tube that holds the dipstick is also the fill tube--use a funnel and pour it there.

What is the difference between a tempo run, and easy run?
Q. is a tempo run faster than my comfortable long run pace? if so, how much faster?
Asked by Harriet The Spy - Wed Jan 20 08:02:33 2010 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Tempo runs incorporate fast, usually about 70 to 80% maximum speed during the run. An easy run is just that, you run at a relaxed, easy pace for the entire distance. If you are doing a 40 minute tempo then you might run hard for 10 to 15 minutes a few times during the run.

What style of basketball do you prefer: up-tempo or slow it down?
Q. I personally like up-tempo because you're constantly running and constantly getting in better shape while wearing the opponent down. I don't think a real good athlete would do very good in a slow down type of system, thus limiting his abilities. A real good athlete with lots of speed would have to constantly slow down to the speed of everyone else in a slow down type of system. Look at michigan state; they have very good athletes but because of their system they only average around 55 points per game.

What kind of style is it called when one is interested in obscure films and down-tempo European music?
Q. Just wondering what you would call it if someone is interested in obscure European films, down-tempo music such as Stephane Pompougnac's Hotel Costes, songs by Seal, Dido, or Pink Martini, things like that. Any help?
Asked by Molly - Sun Sep 21 15:52:52 2008 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments

A. If you are also interested in other things, quirky. If you obsess over these things, probably morbid or depressed come to mind. The films might be the answer. If you include the films of Jaques Tati, Carlos Saura, the French New Wave Jiri Mendel and Pedro Almodovar, then quirky. If you are only interested in Bergman and similar northern european existential films, then definitely morbid.

What is the bpm of this tempo marking?
Q. I have a piece of music from Sonata in G Major by Jean-Baptiste Loeillet, and the tempo marking is Giga, and i cant find a definition of it anywhere! Does anyone know how fast this should be??
Asked by kewlasme2003 - Sat Feb 2 16:40:49 2008 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments

A. The above answer is correct. However, know this -- gigue is a style, not a tempo marking, from the baroque period. The gigue is a lively dance that did not have tempo markings, the tempo was left up to the performer and standard style practices of the time! Any tempo markings added are probably the result of the arranger at a later date. My best suggestion to you is to remember, this is a dance piece, you want it to be fast enough that someone can dance to it, but not sound frantic. This is the fun part about being a musician -- you get more control over the music! So, decide where your threshold is to make the movement sound lively and dance-like without sounding frantic.

A. Science has not found a specific music center in the brain because the ways in which the brain processes music is complex. We do know that music affects our neurological, psychological and physical functioning in such areas as learning, language processing, emotional expression, memory, physiological and motor responses. The left brain is involved with general music ability in musicians, perception and production of speech, perception of rhythm and parosody, lyric performance during singing, and the temporal sequences of reading ability. The right brain is involved with processing of musical pitch, control of sound intensity, identification of musical chords, melody perception in non-musicians, visual pattern recognition, singing,… [cont.]
