How can you figure out the tempo or BPM in a song while playing clarinet?
Q. I play clarinet and I'm having to learn 4 songs and 2 show the BPM but 2 dont. The were composed but are not public known. They are called Sin, Innocenc, Salvation, and Celebration. But they were written for the CHS band to preform. So if you could tell me how to look at the BPM or temp it would help alot. The time signature is on thing I need the tempo.
Asked by Beth S - Mon Jun 23 15:04:35 2008 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments

A. They should have some tempo marking at the left above the first line of music. If not, then that's the composer's mistake. If there is no metronome marking then the tempo marking will give you an idea of how fast, but it'll be interpreted by the conductor. If you're playing it with a band, and they haven't given you a practice tape or metronome mark, then the only way to know how fast to practise it is to ask the conductor. It you're playing the tune as a solo, you decide how fast, or ask the composer. I'm not sure if that's helpful, but hope so!

How do you know what note value to use when you write the tempo marker of a song?
Q. Most tempo markers in songs look like this: (quarter note) = 120 Some other songs I noticed have an eighth note or a half note in front of the equals sign instead. My question is how do you know what note value to use? Hope this isn't too confusing.
Asked by Andre - Fri Aug 21 02:12:49 2009 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments

A. look at the time signature the bottom number will be the note value that you will most likely be using so if the time signature is 4/4 2/4 3/4... the note value that gets the beat is a quarter note if its 2/2 or (cut time) the half note will get the beat that works for simple meters ...okay theres a lot of explaining and im willing to do it but you will need to message me at this screenname on yahoo messenger if not i hope you find the information you need

How much does it cost to fix the suspension on a 1990 Ford Tempo?
Q. I know nothing about cars, and my 1990 Ford Tempo's suspension is all screwed up. I've been neglecting getting it fixed, and am now trying to figure out whether it's worth it to get it fixed. Anyone have an idea about how much I might be estimated to get that fixed? It's otherwise a very good car.

How do I change tempo in music composition; also, relationship to time signatures?
Q. I'm writing a piano piece. At a point, it goes from 4/4 time to 3/8 time, but at the same moment of time signature change, the tempo speeds up slightly. How would I notate this on paper? I will use a double bar to differentiate the time signature. On a somewhat related note, if the entire piece were played at a constant tempo, is 3/8 time played faster anyways relative to 4/4?
Asked by cinders - Fri Apr 24 03:14:22 2009 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments

A. At the measure the time signature changes, you would also indicate the tempo change. if the 4/4 was at "crotchet = 120", and the 3/8 was slightly faster, you could indicate the tempo with "quaver = 64". ... using the note symbol for the crotchet (quarter note) and quaver (eighth note) before the equals sign. Try to keep the tempo indicators the same as the base of your time signature, unless you have a reason for not doing so. e.g. 9/8 using a "dotted quarter note = nn" as it is based on sets of triplets.

A. There is a button on the bottom toolbar that will let you do this. I can't really describe the button icon but it's around the 28th button counting from the left. Click on this button and check the box beside tempo to change the tempo of a song half way through or wherever you want. Hope this helps...

Can your golf tempo and rhythm affect how solid your strike a golf ball?
Q. With the new golf drills i have been working on, i seem to have fastened my golf swing for both the irons and driver. Should i go back to my usual tempo???
Asked by Golfer 2008 - Sat Feb 21 14:48:52 2009 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Having played baseball and tennis, I'm used to trying to swing faster so ball will go farther. The opposite is true in golf. If you try to overswing to get distance, then you lose your mechanics. On the range, try to imagine a metronome ticking in your head and swing with the metronome. No faster and no slower. As another person said, work on the accuracy of your shots. With practice and tempo, then distance will follow.

How can you control the tempo of a game?
Q. The player I admire the most is Zidane. He has a special gift which allows him to dictate the tempo and flow of a game. For example: He can be surrounded by opponents and instead of passing the ball to his team mate in order to switch the responsibilities he fights them off and gives a clean pass to a player who is a lone. How can I develop this kind of skill??
Asked by Benedictine - Thu Sep 27 14:34:40 2007 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments

A. things like that are gifts. the game just slows down for some people. it comes with time and concentration. you must constantly work on your control so that you are able to see the whole field while holding the ball and fending off the defender. work on ball work while looking elsewhere. dribbling with your head up. juggling while not looking at the ball. you need to be so confident with the ball that it is an extension of yourself. work, then work some more.

How do I add and check the transmission fluid on a 1993 Ford Tempo?
Q. I have a 93' Ford Tempo that changes gear weird and takes time to change when first starting up. I just bought this car and it's been sitting for about two years. Checked fluid and it's reallly low, so about how many quarts will I need on average to get it running right? Thanks
Asked by Phish - Mon Mar 17 15:35:13 2008 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments

A. If you don't see any on the transmission fluid dipstick (not the motor oil dipstick, but you knew that), you need at least two quarts, maybe more. Just spring for the gallon jug and you should be fine--pour it in a quart at a time and check the dipstick after you give each quart a while to settle in. Also, don't forget that when you check on the trans fluid level it should be with the engine warm. I don't have a tempo, but on most cars the tube that holds the dipstick is also the fill tube--use a funnel and pour it there.

How do you remove the rear and front bumper covers on a 1989 Ford Tempo GL?
Q. I need to know how to remove both bumper covers on a Tempo GL. The old lady who owned it before me broke the front one, and I broke the back one and I don't want to spend $280 for both covers when I can just Bondo and paint these ones. I'm sure it's the same for most all years, so if you know how to for another year, share your wisdom. Thanks in advanced.

What is the difference between a tempo run, and easy run?
Q. is a tempo run faster than my comfortable long run pace? if so, how much faster?
Asked by Harriet The Spy - Wed Jan 20 08:02:33 2010 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Tempo runs incorporate fast, usually about 70 to 80% maximum speed during the run. An easy run is just that, you run at a relaxed, easy pace for the entire distance. If you are doing a 40 minute tempo then you might run hard for 10 to 15 minutes a few times during the run.

What is the bpm of this tempo marking?
Q. I have a piece of music from Sonata in G Major by Jean-Baptiste Loeillet, and the tempo marking is Giga, and i cant find a definition of it anywhere! Does anyone know how fast this should be??
Asked by kewlasme2003 - Sat Feb 2 16:40:49 2008 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments

A. The above answer is correct. However, know this -- gigue is a style, not a tempo marking, from the baroque period. The gigue is a lively dance that did not have tempo markings, the tempo was left up to the performer and standard style practices of the time! Any tempo markings added are probably the result of the arranger at a later date. My best suggestion to you is to remember, this is a dance piece, you want it to be fast enough that someone can dance to it, but not sound frantic. This is the fun part about being a musician -- you get more control over the music! So, decide where your threshold is to make the movement sound lively and dance-like without sounding frantic.
